| Base / cable length / controls | Separate wired 360 degree base with cord storage; Amazon lists a 0.75 m cable. Button-operated lid and on/off switch below the handle. Removable kettle, not battery-powered. |
| Water level / temperature settings | Blue-lit water-level indicator during heating. Not a temperature display; programmable temperature selection, keep-warm, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth or app control are not documented. |

| Limescale strainer / cleaning | Removable washable limescale strainer, not a water softener. Unplug and cool before cleaning; wipe with a damp cloth and dry. Do not immerse kettle or base; no dishwasher approval claimed. |
| Descaling / first use | Manufacturer requires a suitable commercial descaler and rinsing according to directions. Do not use products based purely on vinegar or citric acid. Do not use the water from the first boiling cycle for food preparation. |
| Weight / included items | Amazon lists 1 kg, WMF 1.673 kg; net-versus-packaged scope is not reliably resolved. WMF lists one Stelio kettle, one base and one removable limescale filter; not a toaster or coffee-machine bundle. |

Description
The WMF Stelio is a traditional household kettle with a 1.7 litre capacity and up to 2400 W of power. Matte Cromargan stainless steel housing, a black handle and a blue-lit water-level indicator while heating identify this version.
Lift the kettle off its separate 360 degree base for filling and pouring. “Cordless” means this removal: the base needs mains power; battery operation and app control are not provided. The base has cord storage and the heating element is concealed. A button opens the lid, and a removable strainer catches larger limescale particles when pouring. It does not soften water or replace regular descaling.
The instructions say automatic boil stop only works reliably with the lid closed. Lifting the kettle off the base stops heating; a thermostat and additional temperature limiter provide protection against accidental boil-dry operation. These features do not replace supervision: the housing and steam can be hot. Use clean water only, not milk or coffee; observe the maximum fill mark.
Unplug and cool before cleaning. Do not immerse kettle or base. Use suitable commercial descalers as instructed, not products based purely on vinegar or citric acid. Dimensions and weights differ between sources and are qualified accordingly.
Use cases
- Boiling water for tea or instant coffee; do not prepare drinks inside the kettle
- Providing hot water for cooking without cooking food in the kettle
- Pouring from the removed kettle using the handle with the lid closed
- Choosing a straightforward 1.7 litre kettle with a visible water level rather than programmable temperature settings
