Description
The NOCO Boost Plus GB40 is a portable jump starter with a built-in lithium-ion battery. It assists with starting a compatible 12 V vehicle when its starter battery is too weak. NOCO specifies 1,000 amps of peak current and engine limits of 6.0 litres for petrol vehicles and 3.0 litres for diesels. These are manufacturer ratings, not a guarantee that every engine will start: charge level, temperature and the condition of the vehicle battery affect the outcome.
Battery clamps are supplied. In normal operation, the UltraSafe functions provide spark-proof and reverse-polarity protection. Manual override is not a routine operating mode: it bypasses safety functions and must only be used as directed in the manufacturer's instructions. The GB40 is not suitable for 24 V vehicle systems and does not replace a vehicle battery charger or maintainer.
USB output lets the GB40 power mobile devices. According to NOCO, its built-in LED flashlight provides 100 lumens and seven modes, including SOS and strobe. The rubberised enclosure is rated IP65; this does not permit immersion. Manufacturer-listed weight is approximately 1.09 kg.
